Find Your Patients
There are three frenums that should be evaluated when diagnosing all orthodontic patients. These are:
- The upper labial frenum that may need to be removed prior to closing the diastema between the central incisors.
- The lower labial frenum that can be involved with a diastema between the lower central incisors and can also cause a periodontal cleft to develop.
- The lingual frenum that can prevent normal tongue function which in turn effects the normal growth of dermal bone.
